This week has been crazy with moving all our things and me being homeless. Ok... so I'm not homeless. Really, I'm just couch surfing until this week is over. While my husband drives to our new home I am here finishing up Starstruck's "Frog and Toad" camp. Before "Frog and Toad" I had a blast music directing "Honk!" (the musical version of the ugly duckling).
"Honk!" was my first experience with Starstruck and I loved it! Musical theatre is the closest thing to a team sport that I participated in as a child. Being a coach is and imparting my knowledge is so fulfilling. The cast was overwhelmingly talented. During auditions I was stressed trying to figure out how to cast so many talented actors. What a great problem to have!
"Frog and Toad" opens this week and here is a preview of the sets. I sketched the paintings on the wall.
I'm getting teary-eyed writing this right now. This is my sweet friend Hilary. I met her this summer and we clicked. She directed both camps and interviewed me earlier this year. We had so much fun laughing, and creating something so awesome. Each camp was very unique and had it's ups and downs but we seemed to push through and the final product came together. She is incredibly patient with the children, and charismatic. I'm going to miss her!
